The Geneva Reeves-Johnson Foundation was established for the following purposes:
Empowerment through Education
To provide general educational assistance to deserving students in underprivileged communities in the form of scholarships, tutorials, training and internship. Scholarships will be granted primarily to deserving students in the healthcare field.
The Foundation is developing programs to give annual awards to selected graduating high school students with outstanding academic achievements and with interest in pursuing further studies in areas of the healthcare field. These students will be selected by the administration and staff of certain identified schools, particularly in underprivileged areas. The Foundation will focus quite a bit on primary education since the late Geneva Reeves-Johnson spent majority of her adult life working in that area. She strongly believed that a solid foundation is the bedrock of a bright academic future of every student.
Alzheimer's & Dementia Awareness
To raise awareness of the Alzheimer's disease through education and support services to individuals and families confronting dementia and assist their caregivers and families through other individuals and organizations dedicated to quality of life.
The Foundation is developing programs and activities to help families with elderly loved ones that display symptoms of the disease in targeted underprivileged areas. This includes basic education about the disease, assistance in finding sources of care, and general assistance in obtaining supplies and other necessities.
Build Partnerships
To build partnership opportunities with other organizations in meaningful ventures, and serve in an advisory role to find ways to help the less fortunate in lesser developed areas.
Expand Our Reach
The Foundation anticipates on constructing and operating a state of the art academy to Mrs. Johnson's memory in her hometown, St. John River City, Grand Bassa County, Republic of Liberia. The Foundation will collaborate with other charitable organizations to provide maximum assistance to the targeted individuals and communities.
